Will your resume get past screening software?

Paste your resume and, if you like, the job posting you are targeting: see what an applicant tracking system (ATS) reads from it, your score out of 100 and the fixes that matter most.

Your resume is analyzed in memory, never stored.Nothing is kept after the analysis: not the text, not the file, not the result. The analysis applies fixed rules, the same for everyone.

Your resume

Copy the whole content of your resume, from your name to the last section.

0 / 30,000 characters

Paste the text of the posting to see which keywords your resume includes or misses.

The scanner reads the text of your resume, not its layout: columns, text boxes, headers and footers of a PDF are not assessed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the scanner really free?
Yes. The scanner works without an account or credit card. Only a cap on analyses per hour and per day protects the service from abuse. The free Postulio account is free too: each month it gives you a few tailored resumes, letters and posting analyses, and a paid plan only starts if you choose it.
What is an ATS?
An ATS, or applicant tracking system, receives the resumes sent for a posting, extracts their text and files it by field: contact details, jobs, dates, skills. Recruiters then search it by keyword. A resume the software misreads comes up less often in those searches.
What does the score measure?
Five dimensions, each out of 100: contact details, sections, experience, formatting and, if you add a posting, keywords. The overall score is their weighted average. The calculation follows fixed rules: the same resume always gets the same score. It measures how well a machine can read it, not the value of your background.
Is my resume kept?
No. The text or file is analyzed in memory, then forgotten: neither the resume, the posting nor the result is stored, and no log quotes their content. Only the number of analyses per day is counted, with nothing about you. If you check the box under the result, the posting and, for a sign-up, your resume file are kept in your browser tab for 2 hours at most while you sign up.
What happens after I sign up?
You confirm your email address, then create your profile, importing your resume if you wish: Postulio extracts your information and you review it before saving. You then paste a posting. Postulio writes a tailored resume from your profile, checks it against that profile, and you download it in the template of your choice. If you checked the box under the result, the posting and your resume file are waiting for you in the same tab.
What are the limits of the analysis?
The scanner reads text. The layout of a PDF (columns, text boxes, headers and footers) is not assessed, even though it can trouble some software. A scanned PDF cannot be read. Each ATS has its own rules: the score is an estimate, not the verdict of a specific product.
Why remove the photo, age or marital status?
In Canada, an employer cannot take a photo, age, marital status, nationality or religion into account, and receiving them exposes it to a discrimination complaint. A social insurance number is only shared once you are hired. Removing them keeps a recruiter from setting your application aside to be safe.
